Fabric Options
Rush-Co. only offers fabric options that will meet our customers’ needs. Only Rush-Co. Marine regularly tests fabrics for tear strength, abrasion resistance, coating adhesion, stitch and seam strength, cold flex and wind whip – in order to create the most suitable covers for your marine application. Three Excellent Fabric Choices:
Shur-Tuff™ Coated PVC
Shur-Tuff™ is an 18-oz. PVC-coated polyester material that will not rot, shrink or stretch and is mildew resistant. Shur-Tuff™ has been engineered to meet Rush-Co.’s extensive industrial performance criteria. Don’t settle for a poor-quality coated fabric or a laminate that is not designed to stand up in this type of application. While others use the description of “16 or 18-oz. fabrics” generically, we often see poor-quality fabrics used to cut corners. Shur-Tuff™ is a moderately priced quality fabric that offers high durability and strength and out-performs leading
competitors’ fabrics in wind whip tests. The
Shur-Tuff™ cover is assembled by using heat-welded seams in
the main body of the cover to create a waterproof environment

Note: While Shur-Tuff™ is colorfast and is consistent throughout each cover, we do not
guarantee color match from cover to cover. (Slight shade differences due to variation in
pigments from roll to roll are somewhat common in Shur-Tuff™.) Covers made of Shur-
Tuff™ are covered under the Rush-Co. 5-year limited warranty.
Shelter-Rite® by Seaman Corporation
This “Made in America Premium Fabric” is engineered to
meet and exceed Rush-Co.’s extensive performance criteria.
Shelter-Rite® is an 18-oz. PVC-coated high-tenacity polyester
material that will not rot, shrink or stretch and offers unparalleled
adhesion (to reduce wind whip), color match and
colorfastness. This is the best PVC-coated fabric we have ever
worked with from anywhere in the world. We have used tens of
millions of yards in far more severe applications than Marine
and it out-performs all others. These covers are also constructed
by using heat-welded seams in the main body of the cover to
create a waterproof environment for your boat. Request a fabric sample.
Note: Shelter-Rite® fabric is the most consistent in color year to year, roll to roll and cover
to cover. Seaman Corporation uses computerized pigment formulation equipment that
all but eliminates this issue. (Occasional sheen variation can create the appearance that
colors vary ever so slightly.) Covers made of Shelter-Rite® are covered under the Rush-
Co. 7-year limited warranty.
Harbor-Time™
Harbor-Time™ is a “Premium Woven Polyester, American-
Made Fabric” that has an extremely durable “pigment-stable”
acrylic coating on both sides of the material. An acrylic coating
retains a beautiful soft cloth appearance and insures a long lift
cover life. Harbor-Time™ fabric was designed for high UV and
high-moisture environments and is superior to all other leading
fabrics we have tested. With a Harbor-Time™ canopy, you will
get compliments on the inviting appearance. Request a fabric sample.
Note: The Glen Raven Mills 5-year colorfast warranty applies to Harbor-Time™ fabric.

to Harbor-Time.
